This passage reminds us that the pastor has a hard and difficult calling when he seeks to obey and please the Lord. In 2 Tim. 4:5, Paul told Timothy that there were four aspects of the ministry he still needed to take into account. Pastors must be solid in their ministry and always clear thinking. They also must because of their dedicated preaching of the Word must be able to endure hardships as they will come as a result of their commitment to preaching the truth. The pastor must also do the work of an evangelist. He is to preach the Gospel often, even to his own church, never knowing how many unsaved that may be in his congregation. Finally, he must fulfill his ministry by his staunch commitment and doing things with all of his heart.
