The Narrow Gate
Series: Luke Topic: The Narrow Gate Scripture: Luke 13:22-30, Jeremiah 17:9, Matthew 7:13-14, Ephesians 2:8-9, Philippians 2:15, Revelation 22:17
Scripture clearly tells us that the gate to heaven is narrow and few that enter in. The gate to hell is broad and most will enter that gate. There is a failure on the part of all of our hearts in that we are all sinners and come short of the glory of God. We are reminded that the wages of sin is death, not only physical, but spiritual and that means hell. There is also a failure in most modern evangelistic methods. There are too many treating it like fast food with its ease and speed and trying to skip the bad part of sin and hell. The methodology of easy believism skips the striving into the narrow gate. The Bible says to strive or agonize through the narrow gate, that is we need to battle through our natural selfish and foolish sinful tendencies that we might come to repentance.
