My Beloved Child

Series: 2 timothy Topic: Encouragement Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:1-7, 2 Timothy 4:9, 2 Timothy 4:2-6, Philippians 2:12-14

Paul was now in a Roman prison facing a martyr's death that was swiftly awaiting him.  He was writing this last epistle to his dear child in the faith Timothy.  Timothy would be the man that Paul wanted to motivate to keep the flame of the ministry going.  Timothy needed some godly reminders that those that love the Lord also need to take to heart.  Paul in this portion motivated Timothy by not only his love for him, but also by reminding him of God's gracious salvation.  Paul also motivated him by reminding him to rekindle his gift of ministry and preaching that seemed to be waning.  Finally, Paul told Timothy not to fear, but to rely on the Lord for this concern.
