It's hard to know what moves Christians to be passionate about the Lord and serving Him at times. In our passage, there is a definite reason to be driven to honor the Lord by our hearts and our service to Him. Paul gives us a doxology for the man of God and for us all to lift our hearts in praise and to be reminded of the eternal value in serving the Lord Jesus Christ. The appearing of the Lord reminds us that there will be an eternal reward for our labors on earth for Him. He is the one and only blessed God that calmly works His will and way as the Potentate, that is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He is the God who His everlasting and dwells in unapproachable holiness and light so we give Him honor both now and forever.
