Characteristics of a Pastor pt3

Continuing to look at the characteristics of a pastor in 1 Timothy, it is important that he has good behavior.  This smacks of being blameless, but this is more of his being orderly and doing things properly.  He keeps an eye on the Word as he keeps his priorities in order.  He is also to be an example of hospitality.   It means to love strangers, in biblical times this was very necessary with poverty and persecution.  The pastor is emphatically to be a capable teacher of the Word.  This separates him from deacons and others in the church.  He must be able to effectively communicate God's Word and live it.
