Examining Our Faith (4)
There are times people contend that salvation should be based on sincerity. As my old professor used to say, "if you think sincerity will get you to heaven, you are sincerely wrong." We have looked at several indicators of what is or isn't salvation to hang our hats on. If we still love the world system, that the devil is the god of this world (2Cor.4:4) it is a good indication that the person is not saved. We must also know that we are to be sinning less and enjoying it more, that is the Lord saved us from our sin and that indicates a changed life and a pattern of sinning less. The chains of sin no longer hold us tight. Finally, we should be seeing the Lord answer our prayers as His children who call out to Him.
