Examining Our Faith (2)

September 27, 2020 Pastor: Eric Cuenin Series: Salvation

Topic: Examining Our Faith Passage: Romans 8:16, Luke 18:10-14, James 2:14-20

Examining Our Faith (2)

Continuing our series in examining our faith, John puts emphasis on knowing if we are saved and so we put emphasis on what John examines for us.  John reminds us that the Lord Jesus is perfect and holy whereas we are sinners and need a Savior.  The saved person will acknowledge their sin and will see themselves as debtors to God's grace.  The saved person will show evidence of their salvation by seeking to please the Lord with a life of obedience to the Word.  Finally the evidence of a saved person is the Holy Spirit who will have a definite ministry in our lives with such things as illuminating the Word or giving us fruit for our ministry.

Primary Scripture: 1 John
