Necessity Of Reminders

Peter in his inspired text reminds us of our forgetfulness.  We are people that are distracted (particularly in our culture) and need to be reminded of the truths of God's Word.  All good preachers, teachers and parents are aware of this particular need of reminders in our lives so that we can hold on to them.  The Bible is filled with passages telling us not to forget or to remember what God is telling us.  Peter told the readers that he was soon going to die and this epistle was a good reminder for them of what they needed to do to please the Lord and to be wary of wolves.
