When we discuss doctrine and church matters we often get into areas of where we refuse to compromise. The sermon looks at Paul finding himself being asked not to offend the believing Jews by showing that he still clung to some of the tenets and ceremony of their beliefs. Paul was asked by the leaders of the church at Jerusalem to do a cleansing ceremony involving some other men to show himself as a faithful Jewish believer so that he would not be a stumbling block to the many recently saved Jews. The topic begs the question of when it is appropriate for us to accommodate others in the faith.
