Need To Be Clean

When God dealt with His Covenant People in the Bible, He reminded them that they belonged to Him and were to have the right hearts toward Him.  The sign of the Covenant was the symbolic and outward sign of circumcision.  This was only an outward sign that meant they also needed to be cleansed of sin, but in order for that to happen their hearts also needed to be circumcised or cleansed.  In Colossians 2, Paul told the listeners of the churches that the heart always needs to be cleansed in order for there to be a transformation of life that will seek the things of the Lord.
