PEACE WITH GOD
The truth that people need to be reconciled to God is based on our sin. We know that God is holy and He is of purer eyes than to look upon sin and that God is angry with the wicked every day, Ps.7:11. Edwards got it right in his sermon, "Sinners in the hands of an angry God." The good news is we can be brought near through the finished work of Christ as our substitute on the cross paying the penalty for our sin. We may have peace with God through Christ. We were once alienated and enemies in our minds, but now we that believe and are forgiven are brought near.
