Having given the Colossians the postive commands for biblical sanctification in 3:1-4, i.e. what they are to think and do in pursuit of true holiness, the Apostle Paul now shifts his instruction in biblical sanctification to the negative comands i.e. What they are to stop thinking and doing in their pursuit of true holiness.
