My Father's Business

We hear lots of sermons on Christmas, but usually the preacher stops there.  We rarely hear a sermon on Jesus leading to His time as an adult.  We have one incident and one record of Jesus speaking as a boy in Luke 2.  Luke wants us to know that Jesus understood that He is the Messiah, the Son of God.  Jesus knew His mission and what He needed to be doing.  We see His entering into adulthood and focusing on His mission while dealing with His parents who are trying to understand this profound statement of Jesus doing His Father's business.  We see how the Lord, God in the flesh conducted Himself with strength and divine wisdom.
