Having A Servant's Heart
Series: 1 Corinthians Topic: The Servants Heart Scripture: 1 Corinthians 9:19-27, Philippians 1:1
We live in a day of celebrity ministers and it seems everyone wants to glom onto some fame and notoriety. The Bible is very direct by telling us that we that seek to minister are to be servants. It is not in the nature of the servant of God to seek glory for themselves. We are reminded that all the glory belongs to our Lord and Savior. The servant is to rejoice in the blessing of serving our great God out of a heart of love. We do it for the sake of the Gospel, that others might know our great Savior. It is often hard for the modern servant to discipline themselves and set aside selfish ambitions and lusts. But, there is a prize for those who faithfully serve the Lord; it is not a waste.
