Reminders To The Church

Series: 2 timothy Topic: Reminders to the Church Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:14-19, 2 Timothy 2:2-4, 1 Timothy 6:20-21, 2 Timothy 2:9-10

When the church of Ephesus was being afflicted by wolves and finding themselves having ears for false teachings, it was time for Timothy to remind the church of what to avoid and what to cling to.  The church was reminded to not do battle over useless words that would lead them astray.  They were instead reminded to honor the Lord by being a diligent student of the Word.  This would mean that they would need to cut the Word of God straight and live by it.  They were reminded also to shun profane and idle babblings that were being heard instead of the preaching of the Word.  Finally, the believers were reminded to depart from evil.

Primary Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:14-19
