Responding To Spiritual Strength

Series: 2 timothy Topic: Spiritual Strength Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:1-10, 2 Corinthians 6:4-10, Hebrews 13:23, Philippians 2:11

Paul told Timothy that the answer for his lack of spiritual strength was found in the power of the Spirit.  He then was to use it by working hard for the Lord.  Paul's advice in using God's power was to consider and understand that he was to give the effort of a teacher, soldier, athlete and a farmer.  In other words, get to the hard task of ministry and go in the power of God.  He must remember the victorious risen Savior as our example and to seek to emulate Him in the work at Ephesus.  He would need strength as Paul did during the suffering and hardships that he would face.  He would need endurance in his ministry with the elect in seeing souls saved for the glory of God.

Primary Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:8-10
