How To Treat The Pastor

It seems that there are many churches that have forgotten how to biblically treat a pastor.  In this passage the pastor is to be treated with honor, meaning that he is to be respected and he is to also be honored with gracious pay for his ministry.  It seems too often churches have had the notion that the pastor should be poor.  Perhaps they thought it made him more holy.  The pastor is often accused by people with their own ill and often wicked intentions.  The pastor should be protected by the church and accusations should be ignored unless it is done by two or three credible witnesses and then investigated.
