A good pastor should be qualified and also bear characteristics that give evidence of what a good pastor should do and be. God has given him a spiritual gift that should not be neglected but used for the church for God's glory. He will understand that being a pastor is more than a nice job, it is a calling that absorbs and wraps up the pastor's life. The pastor does not claim that he has arrived spiritually, but he needs to continue his own spiritual growth making it a lifelong process. Finally, even as the Lord saved him from sin, he will keep preaching sound doctrine and dispense the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ to all those that he can.
