Marks Of A Good Pastor (2)

Topic: Marks of A Good Pastor Passage: 1 Timothy 4:6-16
The indicators that instruct a church and a pastor what a good pastor is must not be the result of passing fads. The good pastor must pass the test of Scripture. This portion takes us to 4:10-13 that reminds us that a good pastor must be prepared to work hard particularly in the study of God's Word and in the ministry that he is called. A good pastor must also be a man who preaches with authority and conviction in the pulpit. It is "thus saith the Lord" and it is not the opinion and subjective utterings of a rash talker. He is to be a godly example even if he is a younger man. He is not to show a lack of maturity, but show himself to be godly and separated to the Lord. Finally, he is to have a prioritized ministry of preaching the Word.
