Worst Of Sinners?
When telling others the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we often hear the response of the person saying how good they are. The issue of sin and self-righteousness is seen in this passage. The Pharisee invited Jesus to dine with him and a prostitute comes by with a fragrant oil and a repentant heart. The Pharisee is disgusted because she is weeping and anointing Jesus' feet and showing her love toward Him as one that is seeking forgiveness. The Pharisee shows how difficult it is for a self-righteous person to be saved and how they prove to be the worst sinner because they treat Christ's saving work with contempt, Heb.10:29.
Primary Scripture: Luke 7:36-50
