Characteristics Of A Pastor (4)

Often people like to say that they like their pastor because "he is just like Me."  The idea is that he is doing some of the sins and questionable activities that they are, which makes them feel better.  The qualifications of a pastor demands that he might live a life that might be an example to the flock that he pastors.   The pastor must not be a selfish, self-indulgent person that wants strong drink nor does he have temptation toward wanting and loving money.  The Word is clear that he must not be an undisciplined, covetous person that seeks ways to fill his passions and sinful desires.  He is to be patient with his people and the struggles that they find themselves involved in.

Primary Scripture: 1 Timothy 3:2-7
