God's Standard For Salvation

May 9, 2021 Pastor: Eric Cuenin Series: Luke

Topic: Salvation Passage: Luke 6:20-26, Luke 4:18,28, Luke 18:13, Matthew 5:6, 2 Corinthians 7:10

When we preach or tell others of salvation in Jesus Christ, our motivation is generally concern for their souls.  We often in return get upset and rejected from those we tell, because they are told that they are sinners that are in desperate need of Christ.  In this passage our Lord preaches again on the Beatitudes in a different place.  Jesus Christ preaches on the blessing of spiritual repentance for those who know their spiritual poverty, for those who hunger after Him, those who mourn over their sin and those that are saved and rejected for godly pursuits.  There is also the contrast of those that are self-righteous and reject the message.  They are cursed and woe to them.

Primary Scripture: Luke 6:20-26
