Substitutionary Work Of Christ

August 4, 2019 Series: Crucifixion

Topic: Substitutionary Work Of Christ, Crucifixion Passage: Isaiah 53:5-6

The infinite work of Christ as our substitute on the cross of Calvary is seen in the remarkable passage of Isaiah 53.  We are reminded that Jesus Christ was wounded or pierced for our transgressions, not only was He pierced five times by soldiers, but certainly He was pierced for our sin.  He was also bruised or crushed for our iniquities reminding us of the price Jesus dying on the cross.  We have peace for the chastisement that He paid for our sin, Ephesians says He is our peace.  We further are told by His stripes we are healed, that is those who believe have forgiveness and eternal life.  Surely we are all sheep have gone astray and those of us who have been brought into the fold rejoice in the saving work of Christ.
