PRAYER

Series: PRAYER Topic: Prayer Scripture: Galatians 4:1-7, James 5:16-18, Luke 18:1-8, Hebrews 4:16

Ever give thought to the significance of "pray without ceasing?"  It seems like this command is rather ambitious and impossible to pull off.  It may be alright for someone like Paul but for the rest of us it is only a holy ambition.  The power that supplies this lofty goal is the Holy Spirit, Galatians 4 explains that He "causes us" to cry out.  There also needs to be some persistence on the part of the prayer and we are told in James 5 that Elijah persisted in repeatedly praying about the rain.  We are told by the Lord Jesus in Luke 18 that we are not to faint when we pray.  Finally, the intent of praying without ceasing is to consciously be ready with our next thought to talk to God.
