The Bible reminds us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.  The fear of the Lord is key because it is connected to the truth that God has revealed to us in His Word.  But, godly wisdom is a challenge because Christians being part of this world are bombarded by the earthly wisdom that we are so saturated with on a daily basis.  James asked an appropriate question, "who is wise among you"?  The world thinks the cross of Christ and salvation in Him is utter foolishness, but it is the wisdom of God and for us that accept it.  We are called to shun earthly wisdom and to seek to glorify God by having the discernment to obey His Word and to accept His wisdom.
