There are some things that have been around quite a while but it may be new to you. I have done very little or no blogging, articles yes and some have appeared on certain sites, but I guess not a true blog (whatever that means). And no I haven’t tweeted anyone yet, maybe that will be next on my techno agenda. So, I will try to give this a shot each month and see if perhaps it is something I can do or get better at.
Certainly it is the same with preaching the word, godly men have been preaching the word since Old Testament times and yet there are those that are just embarking on that pursuit and trying to figure out how to do it. Obviously there is nothing new about the ministry of preaching the word of God, but for many people they look at it as something they want very little of in their lives and some may say I need something more exciting.
When I was a young Bible student our teachers would speak to us of the importance of preaching the word and we used to talk of the “primacy of preaching the word” which meant that it would be our number one priority when we would pastor a church. We hear very little of that anymore, we hear of churches that more likely will advertise their entertainment, their facilities, their music and hosts of other things that they hope will attract an audience (sound like a boring guy that’s no fun, right)? If we are people of the Bible we should look carefully at three things that should make us stand and take notice in 2 Timothy 4:1-5
